A Plateau of Piano Realities
The project is a part of Music Becoming-Minor in Performance Spaces and is primarily a collaboration with pianist Ning Yu. Through the Meyer Sound Constellation system at National Sawdust (Brooklyn, NY), Piano Realities creates new territories of sonic possibility. View Project
Planning and Performing a Logic of Sensation with New Music, New Painting, and New Theater
The project shows how music, painting, and theater form productive tensions within academic space. Dr. Jonathan Eakle's paintings encounter Cézanne's Garden, my Baroque fragments connect with New Music, and Dr. Evan Crump's theatrical elements draw from Artaud's techniques. Our performance creates transverse lines between artistic practices and academics. View Project

A Plateau of Trilogy

As a component of Music Becoming-Minor in Performance Spaces, the project is developed primarily in collaboration with pianist Ning Yu. In Trilogy for Two Pianos, Tape, and Live Electronics, Ning Yu and Cory Smythe enter into machinic assemblages with various bodies through three movements. The film captures these desiring-machines that generate continuous flows of sonic intensity to form a bloc of sensations.
